Ten minutes from downtown without downtown prices. Old Sacramento, Sutter Health Park and midtown are all a short drive, and the neighbourhoods are quiet when you get back.

Sacramento is a city of trees and a river, and the parts worth staying in are the ones just outside the centre. West Sacramento puts the ballpark and the Tower Bridge within a few minutes; East Sacramento is the shaded, residential side near UC Davis Medical.

It is also the practical base for Napa, the Sierra foothills and Tahoe — all within two hours of the front door.
